A couple of weeks back, I went to the Launch of AW17 collection at the Woodland Store in Indiranagar, Bangalore. I was overwhelmed to meet all the various Bangalore Bloggers. This was when Nischita of My Black Skirt invited me to the event. It was a great opportunity to socialize and get to know other bloggers personally, rather than just on social media.

I thought I would be late to the event, as it was raining cats and dogs and obviously, traffic. But then, when I entered the store I forgot all those pesky details. I was elated at seeing so many bloggers in the beautifully organized event. There were also cupcakes that were baked so perfectly, with icing made up of woodland shoes and bags; it was such an awe-inspiring sight. How could one possibly eat such cute things?

Coming back, Woodland doesn’t need any introduction, right? It was founded in Quebec, Canada, and it entered the Indian market in 1992. Woodland offers an extensive line of footwear, performance apparel and outdoor gear. Whether it’s a lightweight jacket for active pursuits or a summit tested parka for the coldest places on earth, the focus is on creating truly functional solutions for outdoor and adventure enthusiasts.

Our notion about Woodland, of brown and black leather shoes and bags, has been dyed-in-the-wool for a long, long time now. But apart from that, it also has a wide range of apparel, footwear and accessories, for both men and women. Since I’m a sucker for vibrant colours, I was attracted to a mustard colour tote bag, and a pair of loafers that were matching it.

Woodland, Bangalore – The Collection

The Woods India Collection was a mix of pop and pastel. My notions of black and brown were washed away by the dazzling array of colours. Generally, I am all into comfy footwear as I have flat feet. Therefore, most of the loafers in the store caught my eyes. They were in various colours ranging from pretty pink to peach to blue. One pair of wedged shoes that captured my interest were a little like converse, but without any lace. They were in a glittery black and silver, like a showstopper. A pair zebra- striped pumps that I wanted to try also piqued my curiosity. But as I was wearing a pair of little block heels, my feet had almost already given out.

On the other hand, the men’s collection mostly had the signature Woodland colours. However, they had experimented with some new colours too, like ombrè navy, olive green, mustard, whites with gold highlights – that they are vouching on this season. These colours gave a new twist to the men’s shoes, and I wanted to buy those navy ones.

This was the collection preview of Woodland. Meeting all my fellow Bangalore bloggers, and having conversations with like-minded people was an amazing experience.
