Sometimes, all the kids would gather around my mom, who would cut this royal fruit and it was such a delight. She always wore elegant summer sarees and with such grace. I was often caught red handed, trying to imitate her styles! And, I failed miserably.
This lovely saree from Soch reminds me of summer time with grandmom. It has a traditional touch to it, yet is a modern-day-workwear-saree. It is simple and elegant cotton saree, suited best for summers. The Stripes remind me of the yester years. If you are confused whether sarees go well in this sweaty season, then this humble ethnic wear is your go-to-wear. I am happy to have added yet another graceful saree to my collection. The white colour actually is very soothing to the skin and it calms the prickly heat.
My grand mom used to wear a nine yards saree in her 90 when she would not be able to walk very well but had the confidence of a queen ! She would cut fruits and feed me while she read the Hindu newspaper along side explaining the news to me. Not only dose those memories remind me of my summer holidays but also the smell of the sarees in which I would run around when she would be wearing it into perfection !
Which has been your best childhood memory?
