It is that time of the year when goddesses are worshipped all over India! But why?
Have you ever had this thought, why so in a male dominated society? It’s because in Ancient India, our society was not male dominated, people were saner is what I feel.
It is Dussehra, Durga Pooja or Navratri – loads of names in different parts of the country! It’s festival time everywhere and in our Hindu culture, Mahashakti is believed to be the supreme divinity! I am not here to give a spiritual lecture. I am trying to figure out why exactly Dussehra is celebrated and how can all of us strong women execute it in our lives!
So, why is Durga, the Mahashakti or the Supreme Power? The answer was so elementary that I had not seen through it! She is a manifestation and a triune of Lakshmi, Saraswati and Parvati who are the feminine version of Trimurti.
Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth, fertility and abstract prosperity like glory, greatness, magnificence, exaltation and joy.
Saraswati is the goddess of learning, arts and cultural fulfilment like intelligence, cosmic consciousness and knowledge.
Parvati is the goddess of power, love and spiritual fulfilment like divinity and a power that dissolves the multiplicity of the Goddesses into Unity!
What does this mean in the modern day? Or what does all this even mean?
It’s so simple, ladies! If all of us stick together, we are a superpower. Leave the hostility and stop judging other women and let’s all together and become superpower!
Thanks to Mahalakshmi Reddy and Varsha Suresh for coming up with this incredible idea of collaborating for Dussehra, Dr.Prem sundar for his amazing photography, and Deepak Kumar for the beautiful venue!
