The beauty of the Taj
By Aishwarya Iyengar
After the fort, I left for the Taj Mahal to witness it’s beauty in the backdrop of sunset.
The much awaited wonder of the world that I always wanted to visit! I am sure I don’t need to explain the history of this place, though I got a wonderful guide who was so patriotic about the Taj Mahal as he was a lineage of people who built it.
The Taj Mahal was commissioned by Shah Jahan in 1631, to be built in the memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, a Persian princess who died giving birth to their 14th child. Construction of the Taj Mahal began in 1632.
The imperial court documenting Shah Jahan’s grief after the death of Mumtaz Mahal illustrates the love story held as the inspiration for Taj Mahal.
The principal mausoleum was completed in 1643 and the surrounding buildings and garden were finished about five years later.
One has to go and embrace the emotion it throws out.
The heart can't handle the beauty ! The intricate carvings on the marble, that beauty is indeed exceptional.
I am a history buff and I love to travel places and so far this has been the best! Hope you liked the post peeps!
