Silk sarees are a class apart in every sense. From their sheen to their strength, the silk sarees exude a class that is unmatched by any other fabric. It is true that the silk sarees cost more, but the quality and comfort they give are unmatched. Many think that Silk Sarees are only good for festivals and special occasions, but that’s not true. Here are the different uses of sarees.

Silk Sarees— As Formal Wear

A solid monochrome silk saree is a perfect formal wear for any woman. This type of silk saree is without any embellishments and generally in monochrome or dual-chrome. While draping a silk saree or pattu saree for formal occasion, make sure that you are not overdressed. A lot depends on how you style your blouse. A boat neck or an air hostess collar blouse goes best with a silk saree in a formal scenario.

Silk Saree — For Party

Silk sarees are a very popular choice in the evening parties. For a party, make sure that you drape on the saree in the right manner. Avoid uncomfortable gathers and voluminous petticoats. Instead, it is a better idea to invest in one of the slimming petticoats. If you are wearing a silk sari for a party occasion, then the nest choice for the blouse is the backless and sleeveless blouse. You can alternatively settle for teaming a crop-top with a sari as well.

Silk Sari— For Festive Wear

For festive wear, it is best to go for a traditional banarasi silk saree or a Kanchipuram silk saree. The Kanchipuram silk saree remains by far the most common choice among women for festive wear. A pure Kanchipuram sari comes with heavy zari work in gold and silver with traditional motifs. These sarees are the finest among the lot and are made with pure mulberry threads. However, you can alternatively wear a banarasi saree too.

Silk Saree— For the Western Girl

Well, we thought of covering this section separately. In most of the articles, you will see people saying, “all women love wearing saree”. Well, if you are a woman who ONLY wears western clothes and are thinking about trying on a sari for the first time, then we have some suggestions for you.

Suggestion on the FABRIC

If you are a first-time sari wearer, then you should keep in mind that the fabric you choose is comfortable. We suggest you wear cotton or silk saree. You can as well drape on chiffon if you like. However, blended fabrics are a strict no-no. Net Sarees might look light, but they are not comfortable at all, so it is better to avoid mesh.

Blouse Design for the First time Sari Wearer

Choose a design that is comfortable for you. Avoid unnecessary tassels and high necks. These designs can take some amount of management or are uncomfortable. A very safe bet is to go for the traditional round neck blouse with a front placket for hooks. Also, make sure that the blouse material is comfortable. Pure cotton or pure silk fabric will keep you comfortable throughout the day.

Avoid Unnecessary Embellishments

A first-time saree wearer should avoid unnecessary embellishments on the sarees in all possible ways. We suggest you go for a solid monochrome sari. Avoid zari or stone works. Sari is a beautiful attire. Even the simplest of saree designs will suit you. Just team any saree with a complementing set of earrings, and you are perfectly good to go!
