KOTAGIRI RESORT – GREEN NEST

It was the middle of September when me and my friends were planning to go for a monsoon trip. We were searching for places. As we hit upon staying at a Kotagiri resort, we decided on going to Green Nest.

The most beautiful time to visit the southern hills are during the months of September. Its neither too sunny or nor too rainy. Its a perfect autumn weather where the temperature is just right in-between 14-22* C

#TimeSpan (Ooty to Kotagiri Resort)

Our plan was to reach Kotagiri via the Bandipur forest, taking a pitstop in Renukamba Tatte Idli on the via Mysore Road. it takes around 9-10 hours to reach Ooty of you leave around 6am in the morning, considering the traffic and a minimum of 1 hour from Ooty to the resort in Kotagiri.

#Things To Carry

1.Before Entering the Bandipur forest you need a Double Vaccination certificate or -Ve RTPCR Test Report
2.You will also need a Tamil Nadu permit to visit, if you are from Karnataka, Andhra, Kerala
( PS: we dint have this sorted and we wasted around 2.5 hrs just trying to get internet and the Tavel pass sorted )

#Jungle Trails

Once we entered the forest it’s a scene of natural beauty and we were mesmerised by the lush greenery. You can always try to pitstop at one of the jungle lodges and we spotted the Deers, loads and loads of Elephant herds with their kids, Variety of Birds like Peacocks, Parrots, Buffaloes, Goats and a lot of Flaura & Fauna. I felt like Alice in wonderland all over again !

#Whats so Special about the Kotagiri resort?

As we reached the Kotagiri Resort, Green Nest, it was in the midst the 25-acre Tea plantation and surrounded by southern hills & dew on all sides. The Chilly breeze surpassing your face will give the feel of little Switzerland in India. At the first Glance it looked like Arcadian heaven.

#Mouth Watering Food, Kotagiri Resort Edition

Since we had reached around 1pm in the noon we were quite hungry and had an amazing South Indian Delecay of the Todas in Room Service. I loved the South Indian meals especially the pepper Rasam and the spices in the food was so soothing to the throat which will give you a relief from the sudden small cold that anyone trends to catch when we enter a hill station.

#Luxury at heaven

The resort comprises a total of 15 luxurious rooms each offering incredible views of the tea plantations. All the rooms comes along with a balcony facing tea gardens. There are 4 category of rooms in the property each offering different levels of luxury.
1.The Delux Karumbha Nest
2.The Premier Karumbha Nest
3.The Luxury Karumbha Nest
4.The Royal Toda Nest

#WelcomeParty on the hill top amidst tea gardens

It was a very warm welcome from the host to set up a very beautiful Cake cutting ceremony for us in front of the Toda Hut with was at a hill top with a small trek in of 15mins, and we had a mini celebration in the midst of a mini jungle and the tea estate.

The view from there was beautiful and mesmerising from there. You can walk the plantations and enjoy the beautiful sunset as well

#Grammable Spots in the Kotagiri Resort

The Green Nest Resort has put up cute little Photo spots all over the property which will make you smile. Weather you are a couple or a bunch of Friends or even a Family with kids, some of the spots are the Heart shaped seater, View point spot where you also can sit and sip chai, Breakfast Lawn with pretty Bonfire huts and a lighted In-house waterfall.

Therefore, we all needed a break and decided to go to this beautiful villa to chill and know each other.

Rann Ki Kahaniya – Part 1

This trip is one of my favourites of 2018 and my life because I have been planning it for over two years and then finally made it happen!
The Best season to visit Rann of Kutch is November – December & January – February and especially during the full moon it takes you to a completely different level of nature’s enchantment.
