Every weekend going out to a bar or a house party gets boring. I mean come on don’t we all have anything new to do at all?  and want to go out on short road trips, but we are too lazy to move our asses, aren’t we?

We are a bunch of around 12/15 peeps in our gang and I’m sure all of you know how hard it’s to plan for so many people and drag them all out of bed for anywhere!

We stumbled upon this mystery camping thing which was just a one-night getaway, you all know how I get really excited to go outdoors! Once everyone was convinced, we decided to finally go to the camp, which was a drive of 2.5 hour from the main city of Bangalore. The best part is we still didn’t really know where we are going until we started the drive!

Preparation

Since, it was an open-air camping and it was in September, which was not hot but on the cooler side in Bangalore, we geared up for some basic jackets. Also, we had the liberty to take our own food and make our own grills and Barbeque. So, we decide to rent everything like adults and not depend on the organizers! We rented tents, Barbeque grill, coal, some basics for camping. It was pretty exciting to prepare for a camping in that manner.

We all were  by 3 pm and then along the way we bought snacks, munchies, paneer and some other things to cook in the barbeque. We reached just before it was about to get dark. The campsite was so beautifully decorated, and I think we missed the treasure hunt, while hunting for our food like cavemen.

The first thing you all need to keep in mind is that you always need to pitch your tents before it’s way too dark. So, the coordinator and the brain behind Campmonk taught us how to pitch our tents, and we pitched four of them successfully.

We had some samosas, home baked cakes, some fresh juice as evening snacks and the quiz was about to begin. The quizzing under the stars was one of the best group quizzes I have ever participated in. It was a fun bring-your-beer-and-chill kind of a place. Then the dinner was served, some very yummy biryani and sweets and loads more. Do check out the pictures.

Then started the best part of the evening. The camp fire and music under the stars! It was a private party like the ones you see in Hollywood movies and you always dreamed if you could be a part of one. It was the same feeling. All of us were chilling with our beers and then the beautiful music to the rhythm of the wind whooshing around. By the time the campfire got over we were pretty cold and slowly our old monks had started opening up. Come on don’t judge us, we are bunch of young chaps, getting to the Campmonk was a big deal!

We sat around and chilled and shared ghost encounter stories until 4 am and then finally when we realised we had to get up with the sunrise, we slowly retreated into our tents. Even though we slept so late like in the morning, we did manage to get up to the sun-rays falling directly on our eyes and there is no need for moms to switch of the fan I guess, coz you are sleeping under the stars. That’s the perks of sleeping under open air, you get up no matter what!

We took a stroll, and there was a nearby field and a little lake which was not good enough to go in, but it was a beautiful scenery early morning though. We walked around and random discussions of things we had never ever had and then, our stomach started grumbling.

We had got some bread and Nutella and they were making some omelette, we had that and kind of started packing to get going. One of the best feelings was that we try to do this often, but it never happens. But this Pindrop Mystery Camp bought out the better part in all of us and reminded us that we need to get out in nature often just laze around on the weekends.
