Have you all seen of late that there is a trend to wear kurtas or anarkalis like dresses and style them to look elegant and on point statement pieces?

This is not boho, no way! It’s truly Indian. How did it start and how to wear it, how to style it? I’m sure most of you people always wanted to try it but were scared of this kind of a look!

Basic Rules: There are no rules girls! Just break all the rules that’s the only rule out here. I had bought this A-line Kurta from Rangmach Pantaloons a year back. I love the thick fabric they have used which gives a feeling of quilt. The way they have used kalamkari is amazing in the front panel!

As soon as I saw the kurta, I was sure that this is going to be my favourite dress!

How did I style my Kurta Dress?

Just wore the dress, added a leather belt, and some boots on, it gave the perfect rugged look! Added a pair of sunglasses and little beaded earrings, and done!

How to look for a potential Indie Fusion garment and own it!

  1. Find a dress, shirt or top or even a palazzo which minutely has some Indianness in it.
Meaning – any traditional Indian prints like block print, kalamkari, indigo bagru or even normal floral prints which remotely looks Indian.
  2. For the dress, find a perfect accessory like jhumkas, or a neckpiece or even kolahpuris.
  3. For the shirt, top or palazzo, find a bottom/denim or a top which has the same colour and material matching with your indie fusion pair. It’s okay if its completely western with ruffles or even pleats, don’t hesitate, be bold and wear it.
  4. At first when you pair any indie fusion look it always looks mismatched, but then you will realise it that you are owning the garment and styled it yourself!

Guys, do pair up something and let me know how it worked out for you! Happy day!
