A couple of weeks back I went to the Launch of AW17 collection at the Woodland Store in Indiranagar. I was overwhelmed to meet all the Bangalore Bloggers, when Nischita of My Black Skirt invited me to the event. It’s a great opportunity to socialize and know other bloggers personally rather than just on social media.
I thought I would be late to the event, as it was raining cats and dogs and obviously, there was traffic. But then when I entered the store I forgot all these tiny things. Seeing so many bloggers in that beautifully organized event, I was elated. There were cupcakes that were baked so perfectly with icing made up of woodland shoes and bags; it was such an awe moment. How could you possibly eat such cute things?
Coming back, Woodland doesn’t need any introduction, right? It was founded in Quebec, Canada, and it entered the Indian market in 1992. Woodland offers an extensive line of footwear, performance apparel and outdoor gear. Whether it’s a lightweight jacket for active pursuits or a summit tested parka for the coldest places on earth, the focus is on creating truly functional solutions for outdoor and adventure enthusiasts.
Our notion about Woodland of brown and black leather shoes and bags, has been imbibed for a long, long time now. But apart from that, it also has a wide range of apparel, footwear and accessories for both men and women. Since I’m a sucker for colours, I was attracted to a mustard colour tote bag and a pair of loafers that was matching it.
The Woods India Collection was a mix of pop and pastel. My notion of black and brown was washed away by the vibrant colours. I am all into comfy footwear generally as I have a flatfoot, therefore my eyes caught most of the loafers in the store. They were in various colours ranging from pretty pink to peach to blue. One pair of wedged shoes caught my attention. It was a little like converse but without any lace. These were in glittery black and silver like a showstopper. A zebra stripepumps caught my attention too that I wanted to try but since I was wearing little block heels, my feet had already given away.
The men’s collection on the other hand mostly had the signature Woodland colours but they had experimented with some new colours too like ombrè navy, olive green, mustard, whites with gold highlights – that they are vouching on this season. These colours gave a new twist to the men’s shoes and I wanted to buy those navy ones.
This was the collection preview of Woodland and meeting all the fellow bangalore bloggers, and having like-mindedconversations was an amazing experience.
